Grant McDonald grew up in the Cowichan Valley and moved to Nanaimo in 1986 to play for the Nanaimo Clippers.  After 4 years with the Clippers he earned a hockey scholarship to the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point where he was part of 3 NCAA National Championship teams.  He moved back to the Island after his undergarduate degree and earned his CA with a firm in the Cowichan Valley.  In 1996 he started with Church Pickard and became a partner in 2001.  Grant provides services in all areas of general practice but specializes in the areas of corporate budgeting and planning.

During his career he has assisted many charities with fundraising and board appointments.  He is an active organizer of the annual Big Cheese Charity hockey game and is still active in many outdoor activities as well as tennis and hockey.  Grant is married and has two adult children who all reside and enjoy the Nanaimo area.
